![]() To anyone who is still on the fence, give it a try. Items, weapons and armor are not translated because they are handled service side but the menus, enemy names and some basic quest objectives are translated which makes it possible to progress with the help of a little guess work and some guides. The English patch for the PC makes the most important things clear to new players. If you go for the free PSN download version you have to do it through the Japanese PSN store and therefore have to switch back and forth between PSN accounts, which is a chore on the Vita. The great thing about the boxed Vita version is the fact that you can link any PSN account to it. It’s the perfect companion to play a few more levels with your character before you go to bed or while the missus occupies the TV in the livingroom. My boxed Vita version also arrived yesterday and it works like a charm. But we all know it's true, Sega of America may stealth canceled the game and is actively denying it by saying that it's delayed.I’ve recently started playing the PC version with an English patch together with my brother and a friend and we’re having a blast. And if you're thinking of playing the open beta of PSO2 from Asiasoft, you're definitely going to have a bad time.ĮDIT: Upon further reading this thread, I just found that the thread posted by Edward was fake and is posed by a gimmick account! But it was very convincing as was laid off from Sega of America few months ago. You can choose one option or a mix between the two: keep in mind that not every combination has a result (for example N64 games by Nintendo will probably have. ![]() If you're still interested in playing PSO2 there are plenty of resources to get you started. Seriously, Sega of America today truly does not care about it's customers and it's going to bite them in the behind in the long run because they don't like taking the risk of making the wrong type of money. The game was exceeded expectations in Sega Japan and made them loads of money because the game was great! But no, they turned lazy because it would not sell as well as a latest Sonic title. ![]() The game was done, all localized, they could have done at least some basic marketing or even at least translate the Japanese ads as English Subtitles instead of just giving up. It's basically a end result of the all the crap they pulled to North American since the original PSO in the Dreamcast. Now PR and Community Relationship person (now retired from his role) finally revealed what North Americans PSO gamers knew and expected on well known PSO community website "PSO-World": It was stealth canceled: īasically, Sega of America realized that if it does not sell as well as the latest Call of Duty title (the most recent one is Call of Duty: Ghost), it was not worth it. And they did it by denying that the game is canceled, saying that it was delayed over and over again.Įventually, North Americans have wised up and realized that the game will never be released to their shores and accepted it (by embracing the Japanese version). The game itself was ready to launched.īut then suddenly they decided despite the work they did, they decided to cancel it. Phantasy Star Online 2’s release in North America has been delayed, Sega shared in a statement with Polygon today. There was even a display on PAX East, all localized and ready to be launched. So when PSO2 was planning to be released by Sega of America around last year, they got excited. Yes, as part of Microsofts efforts to expand their Japanese offerings, theyve stuck a deal for the Western release of PSO2 the game will only be coming. ![]() As a PSO2 gamer it has successfully sucked my time away from Battlefield 3 and I enjoyed the game immensely! ![]() It's basically what the original PSO should've been ten years ago and a whole lot more we did not expect. I can tell you as a veteran of the Dreamcast and Xbox PSO games that it's more fast paced than the previous series and it seems like they've taken the best aspects of the all the previous PSO series including Phantasy Star Universe and Phantasy Star Zero and put them in a online game. It's the successor (not a sequel) to the original Phantasy Star Online series for the Dreamcast, Gamecube, Xbox, and PC. Phantasy Star Online 2 was launched in Japan on July 2012. ![]()
